My name is Mayté, I am Boston based artist, illustrator and graphic designer. I work in gouache paint, watercolor and digital art. I also practice artisanal craft as a form of meditation and cultural connection.
I have created my whole life, whether it was making fairy houses in the bushes, crafting, painting, collaging, or doodling in the margins of my homework. Art was the only subject of interest to me and was the thing that allowed me to make sense of myself.
My work is influenced by relationships between people, nature, ancestors and spirit. I source from my personal experiences both in life and from ancestral and spiritual wisdom…
and my art practice closely aligns to what matters to me, centering intentionality, energetic resonance, integrity, natural and organic styles, sustainability and authentic connection.
